Ukraine
Before and during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Hasan Piker has claimed to support Ukraine while reportedly attacking western involvement. In the lead-up to the invasion, Hasan allegedly denied it would happen, calling reports of a Russian buildup "western fearmongering." Russia invaded two weeks later. Hasan reportedly admitted he was wrong — but allegedly insisted the State Department was still to blame. Two days later, Russia bombed and invaded Kyiv.
After the invasion, Hasan raised over $200,000 for Ukrainian relief on stream. But he has reportedly continued to express an anti-western perspective that critics allege often mirrors Russian talking points:
- Claiming America supporting Ukraine has been genuinely devastating for the country. Source
- Stating the US should force Ukraine to negotiate a ceasefire.
- Arguing Ukraine has no more men left to mobilize.
- Claiming NATO's goal is to maintain American capitalism as the dominant force.
- Calling for NATO to be abolished, and suggesting the organization may be run by Nazis. Source
