2026 Congressional Resolution Condemning Piker's Rhetoric
On April 30, 2026, Rep. Josh Gottheimer introduced H.Res. 1239, a bipartisan House resolution titled "Condemning antisemitic hate-filled rhetoric and content disseminated by prominent online personalities, and urging social media platforms and public leaders to denounce and address such conduct." The resolution specifically named Hasan Piker and Candace Owens.[1]
The resolution accused Piker of repeatedly using rhetoric its sponsors characterized as antisemitic. Among the examples listed in the resolution were Piker's 2019 statement that "America deserved 9/11," his use of the word "inbred" in reference to Orthodox Jews, his comments concerning sexual violence committed during the October 7 attacks, and statements expressing support for Hamas.[2][3]
The resolution stated that:
"antisemitic rhetoric and conspiracy theories disseminated by influential online personalities, including Hasan Piker and Candace Owens, are dangerous and contribute to a climate of hatred and intolerance."
It also called on social-media and streaming platforms to enforce policies against antisemitic content and urged elected officials and community leaders to condemn antisemitism promoted by high-profile media figures.[4]

Alleged Use of Antisemitic Slurs
During a livestream following the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7th, Hasan Piker reportedly made statements that critics characterized as a justification of the attacks. In the same stream, Piker reportedly referred to a chatter as a "pig dog", a phrase with documented usage as a historical antisemitic insult in Nazi Germany.
