Animal Abuse Allegations

In October 2025, controversy erupted when Hasan Piker was accused by viewers of using what appeared to be a shock collar on his pet dog, Kaya, during a livestream. Piker has publicly denied the allegation.

During a livestream on October 7, 2025, Kaya reportedly stood up from her bed and started to move. According to viewers analyzing the clip, Piker appeared to reach for an object, after which Kaya was reportedly heard making a distressed sound.

Photos circulating online appeared to show a collar with a green blinking light, which some viewers claimed to match the ET-300 'Mini Educator' remote from E-Collar Technologies, a shock-capable training collar. Piker denied using a shock collar.

The allegations drew criticism from PETA. The animal rights organization responded publicly. The New York Post also covered the allegations.

10/2025Collar evidenceViewer analysis: the collar appears to "closely match the ET-300 Mini Educator half-mile remote e-collar which does have shock prongs. It seems to match in shape, in the positioning of the charging port, in the texture of the plastic... where the prongs that could deliver the shock are simply removable — you can just remove them, or apparently, maybe plausibly, ostensibly cover them with black tape."
